Distribution of long lasting insecticidal mosquito nets in Niassa Province to pregnant woman and infants
Brief Project Description
The purpose of this project is to reduce malaria morbidity and mortality in children under two year of age and pregnant women through the use of insecticide treated nets in Niassa Province over a two year period. This intervention will be held under the management of District Health authorities in all Niassa Province and with the supervision of UNICEF and the National Malaria Control Programme. This project also has the aim to achieve a minimum coverage of at least 90% amongst this target population and also ensure that at least 60% of households in Niassa know about the prevention and treatment of malaria. The main activities will be the distribution of the nets and also will be carry out district wide participatory education campaign on the prevention and treatment of malaria.
