Prevention of Violence and Abuse
Brief Project Description
This component will support the development of model centres that rehabilitate children and women who are victims of violence, abuse and exploitation. It will provide support for the strengthening of the capacity of various line ministries in monitoring and evaluation systems at the national, sub-national and community levels. The key expected results under this component are: Strengthened capacities of training institutions for police in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Children¡¦s Act; Strengthened capacities of the Ministry of Interior to monitor the implementation of the National Action Plan for Prevention of Sexual Abuse, Exploitation and Violence; Community-based surveillance systems established and functioning to prevent violence, abuse and exploitation; Children¡¦s network in place and operating to prevent violence, abuse and exploitation (with a specific focus on the seven model districts); and One comprehensive model of Centro de Atendimento established and functioning in each province for the prevention, rescue and reintegration of victims of violence, abuse and exploitation.
