Women´s Empowerment and Gender Equality

Brief Project Description

This joint program aims to maximize UN´s effectiveness and strengthen its support in the areas of gender sensitive legislation, economic empowerment of women and elimination of gender-based violence. FAO will implement and provide technical support in livelihood activities in the rural areas through management training on small business and micro-credits and through the establishment of productive units, mainly composed of women. The beneficiaries will be women´s groups and assotiations. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Judiciary Training Centre (CFJJ, training on legal aspects related to land, natural resources and women´s rights will be provided to local authorities.
