- Sustainable Financing of the Protected Area System in Mozambique
- Breve Descrição
- The project objective is to Strengthen the overall effectiveness and sustainability of Mozambique’s Protected Area System, including financial sustainability, through working partnerships between public, private, NGO and community stakeholders. The project is structured around three components: 1. Building the Capacity at the Institutional level to set the PA system 'on the path toward financial sustainability'; 2. Demonstrate co-management models in demonstration sites (Gorongosa-Marromeau); 3. Business Planning and revenue generation. For 2012, the project's targets are: 60% of achievement on performance targets detailed in the PA agency’s Annual Performance Plan Eight (8) protected areas have business plans that enable the sourcing of adequate funds for the implementation of PA management plan Ration of (60:40) of human resource to operational costs in PA agency achieved Five (5) protected area staff completing in-house specialized in financial management training and skills development At least 75% of Recruitment of staff appointed and approved in the organogram of new PA agency More > 80% of audit queries adequately resolved by PA agency
