Partnership in HIV and Mobility in Southern Africa (PHAMSA)
Brief Project Description
IOM designed this program to reduce the HIV incidence and impact of AIDS among migrant and mobile workers, their families and the communities with which they interact. In Mozambique a component of this program currently focuses on reducing HIV incidence and the impact of AIDS on mineworkers and their families in Gaza Province. Additionally research into other areas of potentially high prevalence in mobile populations specifically along transport corridors is also being conducted.
