Mobile Populations Assessment
Brief Project Description
The USAID-funded Mobile Populations Assessment targeted selected locations in the country, including Maputo, Matola, Chimoio and Tete areas. In Mozambique the assessment focuses on domestic workers, construction workers and irregular migrants, and has included key informant interviews, collecting individual migrant stories, mapping of health facilities and writing up specific sector reports. Additionally IOM has completed a study of the role of the private sector’s response to HIV/AIDS, Mobile Populations, HIV/AIDS & Private Sector Engagement. The study provides an overview of the intersection of national policy and private sector initiatives and highlights a number of best practices.
