- The co-financing of the census will contribute to the objective “Strengthened democracy and gender equality, and greater respect for human rights”. But it will also contribute to several other of the sub-objectives in the Swedish strategy, as many sectors are dependent on quality statistics, primarily - Strengthened capacity in civil society to work for transparency, accountability and greater respect for human rights - Increased transparency, with a particular focus on citizens’ access to information on political and public decisions - Stronger democratic institutions and increased capacity in public administration The budget is spread over a five year period 2015-2019.
